Can someone tell me which midyear wiring harness cane with the regulator on the left side. 66?

Thanks in advance.

Both my '65 and '66 cars have the regulator on the left side. The '66 regulator is mounted on the inner fender almost directly across from the alternator, while the '65 regulator is mounted on the inner fender further forward, just at the radiator support. The '65 is a factory air conditioned car, however, and I'm not sure if non-air conditioned '65 cars had the regulator on the left or not, haven't looked in my AIM, but can if you need me to do so.

rlm :cool

Thank you.

So what I need to correct my problem (regulator on left on my 63) is an engine wiring harness from a 63, 64 or 67. My 63 has a 65 dash in it with a new wiring harness but the reg is on the left.

Does anyone have a used 63, 64, 67 engine wiring harness (in any condition) that I can scavage some wire and connections from?

Thank you in advance for the help.

I have a wire harness from the 63 Im doing but cant let it go until spring. Can you wait?I would suggest buying a new harness. If you have ever seen a vette damaged by fire, you will be a firm believer in a new harness,I am,I replace them on every resto I do.

You have a PM.
Thanks

Anyone else have an old one they can spare. While I'm at it does anyone have 63 gauges for sale.

Thanks to all.

Is the regulator and horn relay on the right side and how much would you want. Send me a pm if you want. Thanks

Well I guess that means only 63 and 64 harnesses will be correct with the regulator on the right side.

Thank you for the help.

As far as I know it isn't a year difference with the side relationship, it has to do with TI in the car and AC......that tells where the reg was located .

Anyone else?

Tom

My non A/C 65 327 has the regulator and horn relay on the right (pass side). Original harness on it.

Regards, Frank

Well I guess it just depends on several things. Does anyone know if any 63's came with the reg and horn relsy on the left side. Mine is there and I've been told it wasn't correct.

Thanks all

I have a very early '64 and my reg and horn relay are on the passenger side. I have no power steering or a.c. Our set up should be virtually the same.

Well if anyone has an old harness with the reg on the right I would like to put it to use and remove what I need to correct mine.

I just checked M&H and they have a relocation kit to move it from the right side to the left side. I'll call them Monday and ask them if they have one that does the reverse.

Thanks

'63-'65 had the alt/reg on the passenger side, except on A/C cars, which mounted the alt/reg on the driver's side. '66-'67 all had the alt/reg on the driver's side, A/C or not.

Thanks John, I had actually just went to look it up in Adams Vol. 2, a good diagram of the system is on p.120.
