est Tire/Wheel sizes for AS auto-x

the wider the tire the better, but you would want something like Nittos for 'optimum' dry traction

To be competitive you would be looking at Kumho (Victo, V700 or V710's) or Hoosier auto-x compounds. In a hot climate wider is usually better, but if you are running in the North a warm small tire can outperform a larger cold tire. I believe the largest wheel for a C4 in stock class would be a 17x9.5 front and 17.11 rear. I have autocrossed for a couple years and not in a Vette.

Hi Mark,

I autox my LT4 a couple times a month, I'm new at it but have met a lot of nice guys that win at national level & are generous with their insights to this sport. Today a national champ drove mine & gave me a ride in his car.

99.9 of the fast guys run Kumho or Hoosier tires. These are DOT legal but NOT for street use. You'll need 2 sets of wheels. One for race & the other for street.

Having said that, remember that time behind the wheel is more important than the shocks/tires/sway bars or brake pads you install.

Have fun!
