;shrug I am gonna remove the spare tire and all that goes with it from the car. I ordered headers and plan on re-doing the intire exhaust system. Question, is it possible to put the mufflers up in the area the spare took up. I hate to look at the rear of a car and see the mufflers. Has anyone done this to their car. If not, what kind and at what location under the 80 can i put them. Suggestions please. Oh yeah, The cats are gone.(sounds like a secret code) Thanks, Ron

I've seen a C3 that had C5 mufflers back there. Except they were reversed to allow the tips to come out at each end...

My only concern would be that they would be awfully close to your gas tank, sending unit, lines, etc. I'd want to coat or use some sort of heat shield or just find another place for them. JMHO

Do you think I could use the 30" chambered mufflers summit offers under the 80?

If they are anything at all like the Walker system I purchased from Mid-America, you shouldn't have a problem at all so long as emissions (cats) aren't an issue. They eliminate the look of the mufflers hanging down and sound incredible but they also decrease your ground clearance.

I've got SS chambered...

...and have I mentioned lately that I love them? :love Eric (71Shark) talked me into them last fall and I've never regretted it!

My clearance at my lowest point is about 3.25 inches. I try not to run over ANYTHING!

The sound is AMAZING! My gas mileage has suffered a considerable blow because I cannot seem to keep my foot out of the pedal...I just love to listen to her roar. We also (so proud) set off our first car alarm last week!

I would try to talk everyone who is even slightly interested in chambered exhaust into purchasing them. I have been very pleased with mine, they give the BB rumble at idle, have a deep and throaty sound when cruising (but you can still converse with passenger) and at WOT they just roar like a lion!
Ah, music to my ears. Chambered exhaust makes my vette sound like I expect a muscle car to sound.

So we can really blame Eric for your bad gas mileage. Bad Eric bad. :L

Hey have not seen you at BK much. I saw Rob's ZR1 for about two minutes one day at BK. I turned around and he was gone. :L

Eric's vette has a nice sound.:upthumbs

Sure!

I'll blame Eric!
Eric ruined my gas mpg record and any future mpg goals I set myself.
Heidi :D Still don't regret it, but it IS kinda nice to have someone to blame...

Heidi, reading your post and a few others on here is what planted this idea in my head.I think its just what I want I will not rest now until I do it. Man on a mission. Thanks for the advice. Ron

Steve and Heidi, you can't blame it on me anymore. All I have to say is "what Vette, I don't even own one:L".

BTW Steve, I'll probably be at BK this weekend just don't look for a white Shark, I'll be parked on the street and walking around trying to get my Vette fix:(.
