hello all, i want to replace the exhaust system on my 94 lt1 coupe. i am looking at flowmaster and magnaflow systems. 2.5" v 3"? any advice or comments would be appreciated. -HHM-

This is the resonator from a 93 LT1. I believe I would stick with the GM size pipes. GM put some pretty big pipes on the Vette so it would breath better right from the box. Unless you are going to be doing 90% of your driving in high gear above 4000 RPM you really don't gain anything with larger pipes for a DD. If you are just interested in a more throaty sound try what I did and that is remove the resonator. I did not put in an x pipe simply used straight pipe to replace the resonator and it gave me a nice muscle car sound. This only cost me $80.00 to have done at a muffler shop. The longer you run it without the resonator the better the sound gets. It sure is a lot cheaper than a whole new exhaust system.

Hey John what is the sound like in the cabin? Is there any drone at cruising speeds? That sounds like something I may want to try also, seeing as I dont want to cut out my stock exhaust and would like a deeper sound at wot :cool!:

I just got back from a short trip and I can tell you that I do not find the drone to be intrusive. It is rather pleasant in the background but I don't notice it until I put my foot into it and then it sounds like it has just come to life. I can say that I have had compliments on how nice it sounds while idling or pulling into the driveway. i did this in 2005 and now the mufflers (stock Original) are getting burned out and when I back off or downshift it will burble and pop. In my mind this was just enough extra bad boy sound without getting the neighbors up in arms. What the heck in my case it only cost $80.00 and if it had not worked I would have then gone to the Corsa system which is what I wanted but could not afford.

As for how loud it is I really don't know if it would work for you. As for me wait a min I think I hear something. It's the wife but I really have trained myself to be deaf at times so she says:L:L:L:L

Im not at that point in life yet so I cant sympathize with you there :D

Thanks for the info, that throws another possibility out there for me.
