Exhaust to Cat pipe connector?

There are two skinny aluminium pipes that are flared at the ends midway underneath that must send exhaust back to the cat that are disconnected on my 90 Coupe. There must be some kind of clip or connector missing. Whats missing and where can I get one without using a hose adapter w/clamps?

If you are talking about the small line (5/8 or 3/4) I had to cut mine when I installed a new cat, I just used a compression fitting from a plumbing store and have had no problems. I think the original one was some kind of strange crimp on one.
