Ok, I am thinking of selling my '92 and getting an LT4.

I was looking at the options (since part of this is motivated by the fact I want a stiffer suspension. My '92 has FE1) and it got me thinking, which set up would be better. It will be driven daily, and will see auto-x. I drive into the corners hard, thats why I bought a vette.

I like the adjustability of the F-45, but how stiff is it compared to the Z-51? I have not driven either to have a comparison, so...help...please.

thnx

Topless,

I've never driven an F45 equipped Vette, but I definitely like the stiff/firmness of my Z51 equipped LT4. I have drove a 93 & 95 LT1 with regular suspension and can tell they are a lot softer than the Z51.

Hey, try and find F45 & Z51 equipped Vette's in your neck of the woods and take em for a test drive.

Later . . . . . .

F45 'real time damping' is designed more to keep good handling while improving ride quality...

Z51 is more race inspired....

Which one is better? depends on what you want... I think since you are planning on autocrossing, Z51. This is for a couple of reasons... first off, future mods are much easier. Second, the car will handle better. I guess the first question is, Coupe or Convertible? If I am not mistaken, Z51 is coupe only.

mine is Stiff:hb :hb

lt4_gs....
want to trade??? :L

I am a rag top fan, but I might be persuaded to a targa if that is the way to get the Z51. I seem to remember that Z51 and Z07 were not available on convertibles.

Are the F45 shocks able to be upgraded/readjusted like the FX3 system?

Just thinking how the stiffest setting of F45 stacks up to the Z51. I know that Z51 should be stiffer, but how much???

I know, I should try and find vettes around here that have them to test drive. I will let you know if I am able to do that.

I haven't driven F45 and Z51 'Vettes right after each other, but I have driven standard suspension Vs. Z51... I can tell you Z51 is a completely different feeling car... much stiffer, and more race-car like.
