I was reading on another forum about a guy who took his 05 F-55 in because he couldn't tell if it was working. After much fighting with the dealer he got them to ring out the wiring and they found a missing wire from the switch to the computer. Does anyone know of a sure fire way to know and test that the system is working? He said to push down on the car at a finder then switch to the other setting and you should feel the difference. Does the car have to be running? Does it need to be moving for the sensors to work. Does the push on the car thing really tell if it's working? Would someone else try it and see if you feel the difference I did not.
I keep it in tour most of the time but if something is not working right I'd like to get it fixed the system was not cheep

Mine works great. I can easily tell when I switch modes unless I am on a road that has just been paved and then it is more difficult. I had the Z51 sway bars put on mine so when I am in sport mode, it takes the corners much better. The new sway bars may magnify the sport mode a bit since it makes it stiffer but I absolutely love me setup. No problems here.

Hi there,
I find that situation very hard to believe.
This is because the system is fully tested before it leaves the factory.
If there was a wire missing, there is NO WAY it would be allowed to leave the factory.
As for how the system functions, it requires vehicle speed, engine running and monitors the actual velocity of the suspension up and down vertically to dampen jounce and rebound.
Pushing down on the car will have no bearing on how the system functions.
It requires certain parameters be met.
And, it will automatically stiffen up if you attempt to drive more agressively due to monitoring of the other system in the vehicle without having to use the switch.

5000+ miles on my '06 F55 and it is working fine.

I'm not saying it's true or not, but I do know there is always a WAY to mess something up. And it doesn't matter how well they say they check things. You need to remember it's people who build them and most of us make a mistake ever so ofter! I read here all the time where the factory let one go that they should have cought
