Guys, just picked up my 86 coupe, there is no manual or any documentation.
The dash lights (instrument panel) are intermittant - (smacking the dash gets them back on) - any ideas what can cause this and where I should look?
also
There is a ticking sound as if the alarm is going off, is there an enable/disable switch anywhere?

Thanks,
Tom R

Does your horn work? My brothers car will accasionly do that when he power locks the doors. The reason I ask if the horn works or not is, because if it doesn't the previously owner probably unplugged them. If you open the hood in front of both front tires all the way up by the nose you should see a black cylinder that has a little lead coming off of it. If you can see that there should be a wire with a black clip that slids right on top. If you can make sense out of my description and you plug them in, and the horn starts going off then it is the alarm. An easy fix for this if you can't get the car to do it with power locking and reopining the door is just take a terminal off the battery. Now the dash lights I don't have a clue about. Hope this helps.

Thanks Justin, This sounds about right, the car I just bought is a real disaster, lots a electrical things. I think this car is going to cost $$$ to get it right.
