fast idle on 79

Since I took off my stock dual snorkel air cleaner and replaced it with a open chrome version I have a fast idle (1500rpms) when in park or neutral. When in drive or reverse it idles normally 750 rpms. Is this due to the vacuum lines being disconneted and the pcv inlet open freely or something else entirely.

Plug the vacuum lines that were disconnected from the temperature operated switch in the air cleaner. Also, put a filter on the end of the crankcase inlet for the PCV system or otherwise you will draw dirt into the crankcase.
