On the way home from work today a New BMW M3 pulled up beside me on the highway and laughed at me.:(

Well, that was about all I needed, he changed lanes to pass a truck and floored it. So I figured I would get back up beside him, pulled out of OD and boogied up beside him then he dropped the hammer,:D so did I and blew right bye....

That was pretty much it he just did'nt have enough to keep up, I kept letting him catch up then blow him off again.

I thought those M3's were quicker than an old 86 with 220,000 KM's --- NOT.

Sweet kill. I love the people that think our "old" vettes are slow. One night before all my motor problems I was having I pulled into a parking lot trying to chase down a fellow vette and I seen a 3000Gt sl that seen me and came after me. So we went from 20 at 55 I had him by two cars or so then he wanted to go again from 45 again the same result and at 75 I was still pulling on him so he gets in behind me while we wait for a stop light and this girl in a truck that was with him jumped out and ran up to the window and said "You just got F#$%ed up by that vette" :L

Aint the low end torque a great thing, they just dont get it.

The BMW M3 is about 330 Hp AT 7500rpm;LOL Hell we do that at 4000-4500:D

Yea doing about 25 and dropping it in Low 1 is pretty satisfying. If only we had a little more ponies to back up all that torque, but it gives me something to shoot for.

At least you guys have formidable opponents. The guy across the street thought he could take me with his Escort in a stoplight race. Make a long story short, he got beat by 3 car lengths before we crossed the intersection.

And to add insult to injury, I took my 83' Z28 across the street yesterday and right in front of his house, laid down two skid marks for him to see. I tell him, "Just tell me which car you want me to beat you with." He just gets so :mad because he knows there is nothing that he can do about it so I ;LOL

Yea I am thinking when I get my car back ordering true dual exhaust pipes eliminating the cats and maybe swapping the gears for 3:07's.

Why not go with long tube headers?

I would but I cant afford 750 for new tpis ones, and stuff like that I wouldnt want to take a chance with getting used I guess.

Justin,

I don't think you would have a problem with used headers. Parts that I wouldn't buy used are electrical parts. I've seen a set of coated TPIS C4 headers sell for $600 on eBay a couple months ago. If I recall correctly, the seller installed them, ran them on a dyno and took them off. From the pictures he had up; they certainly looked pretty good.

My neighbor goes down somewhere by Indianapolis for some big car show. He said you can get good deals there. He also gets these fliers from Lingenfelter for some garage sale where they sell off all their test stuff that was given to them by the big aftermarket manufacturers. It's via invitation only. :)

I just LOVE hearing stories like this! It is music to my ears... ESPECIALLY when these people in their new sports cars think their all that!

Oooh yeah! That cheered up a dreary day here. There's nothing like blatant subtlety!
