Question: Fender protection ?

Has anyone used the 'Cleartastic' clear self sticking area protection that sell from different vendors? The strips that cling to the painted areas behind the wheels and onto the mirrors to keep stone chips and gravel from causing road rash to the wheel openings and rocker panels? If so what do you think, Worth the cost to apply them? Do you take them off when you wash the car? how ell do thay hold? Thanks for any input.
