Need a quick education on the different FI manifolds. How many were there and what years apply. IE 57 to ??, ?? to 65.

Thanks.

Tyler, I'll try to help. What kind of info do you want? I can't tell from your question.

Are you seeking descriptions of design variations or just casting number data? Are you talking about exhaust manifolds, adapter manifolds (baseplates), or plenums?

I bought what I thought was a Scott TB setup using the base part of the Corvette FI intake manifold. When I got it the manifold is a 63 casting on the base but the TBs were too small for the manifold. The seller did not realizze the mistake as he was unfamiliar with the different FI bases. The setup is simular to this which is a Kinsler:

It is s/n 3 and they tried to buy it back from the guy who owns it but he would not sell. The car is a 58 Lister Chevy.

So the question is, are the earlier intake manifold bases different from the later.?

My 63 FI base is rectangular port, but as I remember, the earlier ones are narrower and actually are sort of "A" shaped at the outer end.

WOW, that's scary looking!

Yes.

The port openings in '57 through '62 FI adapter manifolds are kinda coffin shaped. The plenum stud pattern is the same for these years.

The '63-5 adapter manifolds have roughly rectangular shaped ports. These manifolds share a common plenum stud pattern, but it differs from the earlier years.

The stud pattern and openings where the hat bolts on are different arn't they. I know the manfold bolt patterns are the same. I was talking about where the tb actually bolts to the manifold itself. Was not too clear about that.
