1966,and a 1962 thats almost complete
I had asked this question back in september when I had first aquired my 62.

I finally have my it back in my hands from the media blaster, and have to deliver it to the body shop tomorow for them to get started on the project.Originally I was going to replace every thing that was cracked on the front nose.I came away from the adivce of the folks on this board I should repair everything .

Well the car is now stripped and for sure the front left corner has allready been replaced .Please veiw the photos and give me your suggestions and weather or not I should still keep with the repair it all thought.Or is I should replace the front corner.

once your in the photo album you can chose to see all of the photos full sized.

I vote repair. If you start replacing panels, you may go a lot further around than you think.

It doesn't look that bad. Someone with some experience should make short work of the repair.

Hi Larry,

As far as I can see in the pics, there is no reason to replace any panels. The repairs are quite minor to repair and/or clean up properly. This is all assuming that the upper surround and tops of the fenders are still very stong and not full of stress cracks.

Looks like a fun project. Too bad I live so far away, it would be fun to help out. Solid axle cars have a special place in my heart.

Take care,
Brian

I would be happy to have a body that good to start with. From the pictures I would say repair what is there. Any body man that works on corvettes can repair all those spots in short order. Im looking for a 58 to 60 to restore. Let me know if you know of one. Good luck with yours. Brian

Thanks for the info again.

I will have him just re attach the front corner,Just about all of the connection points are loose.

Hopefully after today the next time this car is on my car trialer it will be all yellow and coming home to be assembled.
