- 1996 Collector Edition LT4 Z51 coupe (red interior
Now I know what all you guys felt when you bought your first Corvette.
Holy smoke.
After 25 years of family obligations (station wagons, SUV's), and 58 years on this earth, I finally found my Corvette. I've had XKE, 240-Z, and Lotus, way back when, but this is something new and better. She's a '96 Collector Edition (which is only about the silver colour for me), and more importantly has the LT4 engine and Z51 package, which I was looking for. And I've always liked red interiors with the silver, so I got lucky on that too. At 44,000 miles, the car needs only small projects done which I can do myself; all fluids and coolant hoses were changed as soon as I brought the car into town.
Unfortunately a previous owner perversely got rid of the original wheels, so in the spring she will get new wheels and original-profile Michelins, which will cure a vibration from the already-aged low-profile rubber on the car.
I'm very happy to be a new member here!
