Just got through looking at the web site for the LED chevrons in the mirrors they are pretty neat but could not down load the installation instructions for some reason; what kind of dificulty is it to wire and install these?

Also I just incountered a problem with my head lamps, parking lights and etc. They do not turn on with the switch that is on the turn signal lever and this had worked until recently. The only way I can get them to work is go into the options on the DIC and set the twilight feature so that they come on automaticly when it gets dark. Any idea what the problem may be? I guess my first suspect would be the switch itself but is there something else I should look at first? They have been working as designed until the last week or so. Not sure this is the thread to post this but thought I would see if there is anyone out there that might have experienced this in the past and could help me. c4c5 specialist more than like would know this so any help would be greatly appreciated.

Aslo what temperature should I exspect to see while I am driving in town, the guage usually reads close to 198 degrees I assume I have a 192 degree thermostat so any help on this would be appreicated as well.

By the way I have a 2000 C-5 Coupe and it is pretty well stock.

Thanks,
Bill :w

I guess alot of people will like those mirrors, but they aren't for me. I think they look out of place on a sports car and belong on a SUV.

I agree. A giant arrow pointing left or right just doesn't seem right on the Vette.

Hi folks -

I was talking about these mirrors with a friend - he asked me if I thought they would be out of place on a vette.

After I thought about it for a minute (read that after I finished my Jack on the rocks, right Patrick?) I thought they were particularly useful on a car like a C5 corvette.

Here is why I think so.

C5's are one of the shortest profile cars typically found on the road. From the cockpit of either of my lowered C5's, I stare direcly into the axle grease-cup area on most large SUVs and pickup trucks.

When one of these soccer mom types in a Canyonero stops behind me at a traffic signal turning to yell at the kids in the back seat, while eating a burger and talking on her cell, I sometimes fear that they might "forget" that I am there and take off - especially when I am turning left and must wait for opposing traffic. You know they can't see you up under the nose of their monster-SUV if they skootch up enough at the light.

Having these additional signal indicators in the mirrors might help make me more visible. I see it as a safety issue moreso than just "bling".

best regards -

Right, Andy. And they were wise enough to not put a lime in it, as Tomayo's did. ;)

I think that's a perfectly reasonable conclusion. If you view this simply on the terms of aesthetics, it's opinion. If you view this on the basis of it being a safety issue, that's a different proposition.

The LED chevrons look pretty neat, and I can definantly see the safety aspect of it but I am not real sure I would want to go to all the work to install these. Might not be as bad as the directions look after you get started but it looks pretty involved from someone who has never done it.

I can see an advantage in them though.:upthumbs As to it not being natural on a C-5 the only time you would see it would be when you turn your signals on; in that aspect it preseves the C-5 look, and would not regular look like a modification or not at all for that matter. I think their pretty neat for the most part and I am not one that likes to change the look at the C-5. I've always thought it would be hard to improve on the C-5 looks or functionality but I think this chevron mirror as done it right!

Just my 2 cents worth,
Bill :w
