Hello there...

Nice forum first off...and secondly, I am a new Z06 owner. I took delivery of a 2004 torch red/mod red "Z" with 812 miles on Tuesday night(It now has almost 1100 SMILES!).

I absolutely LOVE this car! I am very fanatical about keeping it clean and taking care of it. The previous owner was also.

I am a former mod-a-holic that owned a blue 1990 383 lingenfelter done c4 'vette and have no intentions of mods for this fine car. GM has done a wonderful job with it! Power, handling, braking, smooth ride and even good gas mileage! What more can you ask for.

Take care all, have a good, safe long weekend.

Jay

Jay,

Welcome! You're going to love the Corvette Action Center, and you already know how much you're going to enjoy your ZO6!!

Where do you come from in CT? We're just south of Boston and get to CT often, especially for the Club Corvette of CT show in July.

Elaine

Jay,

Welcome to the Corvette Action Center, and congrats on your 04 Z06.
Wow, you had a Lingenfelter before... that's pretty neat.

It sounds like you went about it the right way- buy a barely-used and pampered one.

As for staying away from the mods... well, we'll just have to wait and see if you can stay on the wagon. Lots of mod-a-holics around here to lead you back to the dark side :D

Congrats on the new purchase!! Enjoy the SMILES!!

Jim

Jay,
Congratulations on your new acquisition! They are fine sports cars, aren't they? Post some pics when you get a chance- Tammy (MsSchroder) has a very useful thread in the Site Help and Feedback Forum explaining how it's done within the CAC.

As for making mods, I tend to agree. Give it a few months, and my guess is you'll be experiencing mod fever, too. (And CAC can help with that- we have a very effective 12-step program to help Corvette owners identify the mods they want and need. Sadly, funding for these mod projects is up to the individual owner. :L )

In the meantime, enjoy this stage of the ownership experience. You'll find yourself waking up in the middle of the night and sneaking down to the garage just to take a peak at the car. Have fun with it!

Didn't we all say the same thing ;LOL

First "WOW this car is so powerfull, I want to keep it stock"
then "Headers dont touch the engine and are perfectly safe, why not get that extra horsepower"
then "430 rwhp with cam only? hmmm.... I've got to get that cam on my Z"
then "If I put xxxx heads, I sure would make better use of the cam and headers"
then "I need more..... I need more  .... Which supercharger is best?"

You wanna stay stock? stay away from the corvette forums; they're bad influence. :L

Congratulations on the Z06.

Thanks for the warm welcome!

I returned home from Englishtown a short while ago. Not to race..but to head down to the corvette challenge to meet up with old friends and to show them the car. I saw some really nice 'vettes including MANY C6's racing. One was there with Nitrous and was running 11's@12X mph.

As for the mods :) I doubt I'll get in to that again. I spent SOO OOO much money on my last car it's nuts! Each time if I do think about making it faster, I remember all the time wasted waiting for my former car to be finished after it broke or it needed a re-tune. At times, I thought I was dealing with a sick child instead of a car. It made me nuts.

I'll post a few pics of the car for you guys n gals. I wish I could have gotten the mileage shot when it read 1 2 3 4 this morning! I happened to look down and see it when I was close to the track. Didn't want to kill myself or crack up the car just for that pic...but I did snap one of it close to that amount of Smiles :)

I took prolly 60 hi-res photos of C3-C4-C5-C6's in action or whatever today. Does this forum have a space to upload photos? If not, I can get them in otherwise.

Take care!

Jay,
We do have a place for uploading photos- it is called the Members Gallery, a sub forum of the Off Road Lounge. However, you must be a supporting member to upload photos there. If you're interested in that, click here.

Any member may also attach photos directly to a thread. They must be sized under 83K (if memory serves correctly). I don't remember how much total space you have for attachments. You can upload by clicking the Manage Attachments button when you are creating or replying to a post.

Hi Jays Z06 -

Nice choice in a car, I do say! :upthumbs

It'll be interesting to see how long you can go without succumbing to mod-fever....:D

Best Regards -

Andy,
I say Jay goes six months before succumbing. By February, when those long, cold, snowy winter days are forcing him to keep the Vette in the garage for weeks at a time, he'll be itching to spend time with it. And that's when the mod fever will hit.

Besides, he'll need to make use of all those gift certificates to MidAmerica Corvette he got from his wife at Christmas. :L

Congrats on the ZO6.
It's gonna take some willpower on your part not to modify anything on your newly acquired beast....but... hey it's worth a try holding back...good luck...;)

Great! congrats! In my sig are some ideas if you ever get bitten with the mod. bug lol!

Congradulations on your Z Jay.

I've had mine almost a month now & Its by far the best car that I have ever driven when you consider the power, comfort, gas mileage etc.
It's a pretty neat feeling cruising around in one of the ultimite factory "bad boys".

Great car! LOW mileage. Way to go...!

ENJOY THE RIDE.

Thanks!!!

I am trying to link a pic for my sig...but each time I try to paste it, it won't let me?

Are you trying to paste a link, or an image that you've copied to the clipboard?

You should be able to paste a link, as long as the picture you're linking to is
"225 by 225 pixels or 97.7 KB (whichever is smaller)."

Or, you can upload a photo from your hard disk- but it has to meet the same size requirements.

What kind of message are you getting?

Tammy

Thanks for the heads up! All set.

Thanks very much, I agree!
