Help! Flashers work, but turn indicator also works as flashers

New to site and need help. Not an electrician, so I'm lost. Turns signals didn't work at first, replaced all bulbs and relay. All was good. Working on other issues and was ready to get inspected and low and behold the turn signals acted up again. Replaced relay again, now flashers work, turn signals work as flashers when indicator switch is turned on. The marker light on the side I turn the indicator does blink with the flashers. I have the turn signal switch out of the column and everything looks ok. Please help. :W ad

With mine, the flashers only worked in the front. The rear light would flash if I turned the blinker on. The turn signals worked fine. If I jiggled the flasher button, the horn would honk!! I replaced the turn signal switch in the column and all was fixed.

had the exact same problem with my 64 coupe. I had to replace the turn signal switch inside the steering wheel column. Bought a aftermarket switch and all worked fine for about two days. Did the same thing. Sent the switch back and got another one. Same thing. The problem was the cheap aftermarket chinese made switch. Was told to order americam made from electric limited. They offer both units. Bought the american made for just a little more. All works fine now. STAY AWAY from repo parts made in china. PURE JUNK. Well worth the little extra for authentic made parts.

Thanks for the reply Art and Don. Replaced the signal switch, relays, fuses and bulbs. Still have the same issue.

It is definately the switch. Just make sude you do not use one made overseas. Like I said before, Electric Limited has an original. I went thru two foreign made until I got it right.
