Flashing airbag light

Recently bought and refurbished a wrecked 2007 coupe. Airbag was deployed. Replaced by a local shop, along with new module for same. Also seatbelt harnesses replaced.

Now, airbag light flashes continuously. Repair shop found U1301 code, no others found.

I know that the code is a general fault code - can the dealer with their magic computers dig deeper into locating a further code to narrow down the actual problem? While I forgot to ask, I'd bet my mechanic doesn't use the $15k model.

Any information would be helpful. There are other details about the repair, but not sure which are pertinent.

Flashing Airbag Light

I have the same issue on a 2008 Coupe, 12K miles. I bought it new and it's never been in an accident. I start the car with the parking brake on and tilt wheel all the way up. I wait until all the initial start up diagnostics are complete and then adjust the wheel, and finally release the parking brake. The airbag light stays off. Any other sequence and it flashes. This started about 2 years ago right after they changed the oil pan filter and disconnected part of the engine cradle. Been to the dealer multiple times but they can not find anything.

Ditto with my 2005 C6. The airbag light begins its flash sequence at various times. If I shut it down and restart, the flashing usually stops. I've tried different starting sequences - wheel up and forward, wheel up and back, wheel down and forward, etc - can't seem to find the combination that will completely eliminate the warning flasnes. OBDII scan shows no errors. I'm hoping someone has figured out this problem and can help.
