flowmaster vs corsa cat back exhaust system which of two is the better one for my 94 C4? would you pay the price difference between (over $100.00) the 2 systems?
thanks boonie

Corsa will have no resonance and is fairly quiet during normal driving. It screams on the throttle though.

Flowmaster will almost always have resonance problems.

;stupid flowmasters are renowned or rather infamous for their resonance as is corsa, only corsa has none and flowmasters have lots :D

I have flowmasters on my 99 and love them. Sure there is a little resonace but I like to hear something. Shifting into a higher gear gets rid of it on mine.

MUFFLERS

Hello :w before you buy anything try to find a vette with MAGNAFLOWS they are kick :booty

Seems like exhaust preferences is always a tough topic to make any good recommendations on.....having said that, you really need to just go to a couple of shows and listen, listen, listen. I talked with a number of owners / drivers before I made up my mind but now that I've installed the Corsa system, I wouldn't have anything else. Once again it get's down to what you want your car to sound like - don't take anyones suggestion. Do a little research / homework and make up your own mind. :w

If you go with Flowmasters, get the 3 chamber 50 series. I have the 2 chamber 40 series and the resonance is much too loud at low speeds in the car. Makes yo say WHAT DID YOU SAY to the passenger.

I just had a pair of stainless steel mirror finish "true dual" magnaflow mufflers installed on my 92 LT1 and I can say they are the most awesome and look the best of ANY exhaust I have seen. They rumble at idle. They have that deep tone at cruising speeds and a little resonance at 1500-2000 rpm, but not much. Man she sounds like a corvette should sound. Give it some throttle on the highway & it roars. I love the look on peoples faces when I pull up to a stoplight or blow by them on the highway, and it gives you instant respect, from rustangs to punk ricers. Oh yeah I love them...a direct testimonial to Magnaflow.

:cool

What was the part number of the Magnaflows?? I am thinking about putting them on my ZR.

I took the Flowmasters off my C4 - they were so loud (resonance) that my passangers & myself were getting headaches just cruising around -

the Corsa's on the C4 sound better than the Corsa's on the C5 IMHO ...

:w :)

Magnaflow mufflers

I have the Magnaflows on my 96 convertible and agree with the comments about them for the most part. They do not sell a cat-back system for my car, just mufflers and I paid $400 for the pair. They do not tuck up quite as well as the Corsa system but very close. They do flow exhaust out of both tips unlike the Corsa which has a dummy outlet on each muffler.
My wife LOVES the sound except when going uphill at lower RPM's. For example 6th gear at 70 MPH on the freeway with a long slight uphill the resonance does pick up. You can still hear each other talk but that much droaning for a long time would get to us. With the top down they are great in any situation.
They are still quieter than I expected and if it were just me I would probably replace the center resonator with straight pipes.

Doutdoor, I was thinking of going with Magnaflow. Is the rest of your system stock? These sound like the ticket (for the price).

yes indeed the corsa has 1 dummy pipe. I noticed that in Nashville. very dissapointing, why couldn't they open it and get more flow??

however they sound great during the demo C4 and C5. very quiet until you nail it.
