I have a 1970 with 4 speed. Looking to replace my tired 350 with a Chevy 350-330 HP complete engine. Will the new distributor allow me to run my tach and does my original flywheel work. I have contacted several Chevy dealers and gotten different awnsers. P/N for the engine I am thinking about is #12496968. Thanks to all.!!!

Not sure about the flywheel ... I'd have to check to see what kinda rear seal new motor has ... if new motor has one-piece rear main seal ... then you have to get different flywheel ... your old motor has two-piece seal. Different flywheel bolt patterns on 1-piece vs 2-piece cranks.

New motor's HEI distributor will not drive your mechanical tach. A factory electronic tach from 75 thru 77 vette will fit right in your dash & will work perfect with new distributor. But the face won't match perfect aesthetically ... will fit & function just fine but won't look just like speedo. BUT ... your old tachs face can be fitted to 75-77 vette tach. I had similar situation ... bought a good used 75 tach about 2 years back for about $55.
