i'm in the process of replacing the flywheel, clutch, throw-out bearing and pressure plate on my 1992 Coupe. they are all genuine GM parts, no after-market. can anyone tell me for certain if the new flywheel is already balanced and can just be bolted on, or do you have to remove weights. or is the flywheel and cranckshaft balanced as one from the factory. i would like to make sure before i start to replace everything. i really don't want to end up with a vibration after all that work. thank you for your time

I was just reading another post where someone said that there are holes where the weights attach, and that you just need to make sure they are in the same place on the new flywheel.

Someone verify??

btw, how many miles did your clutch last? I am waiting for mine to go out, and have been for some time. 133K and still going - to track days and autocrosses.

The L 98 has the holes to insert weights around the outside edge of the flywheel. The new flywheel should have come with some weights to insert in the same place as the old flywheel. Not sure about the LT1 but I think they are the same.
