FOB questions

What happens if a thief jumps into your idling 2006 automatic and drives away without the fob? Will the car stop? What happens to the power windows and door locks? Will they still operate?

Hi there,
Well, if you have the fob, once the car is turned off, it will NOT restart.
But, they can drive away.
What I tell customers is that once you start your car, get out and push the lock button on the remote.
That will LOCK the car and you can still let it idle.

I was more interested in whether the door locks and windows would still operate. I'm about to get involved in litigation with a valet who claims he was trapped in my car after it stopped unexpectedly on him. Hence, I need some defense ammunition to prove he wasn't trapped.

That will never happen, unless the engine stopped.
Once the car is started, you can drive for a while, take you attorney on a ride, you will see.
All functions work, until the car is turned off.
Allthebest, c4c5
