On my 84 the fog lights require the headlights be on, i'd like to change this so they are independant any suggestions on how to remove these two switches?

using fogs as DRLs?
I did a simple wiring change, at the H/L switch, so the fogs will light with only parking lights on. I may have it notated on my FSM wiring diagram, but recall making a note elsewhere.
