I posted something about this a while ago but the solution did not work. I have seen other c5 vettes driving with their fog lights on but there lights are no up. Meaning not popped up or on. The car has its lights down but the fogs are on. How do i do this? when i turn on my parking lights my lights pop up and then i can turn on my fogs. Anyone able to do this?

Atmmac-
That seems weird. The first detent on your headlight control stalk should be your parking lights. THis shouldn't pop up your lights. At this point your fog lights can be turned on and off by the button on the dash. Something seems wrong.

fog lamps

I think tankman is correct. That is how my '97 worked, anyway. Also, you can turn on the headlights, then move the switch to the parking light position and leave the headlights up, but not on. This will let you work on the lights or wash them when needed.

My 03 works that way - first detent and parking lights are on and this enables the fog lights.

When i turn the thing from off to parking light the pop up but are not on it looks bad and is a waste, I want to drive with the lights down fogs on. Anyone ever experience this before?

How can i diagnose this? Where should i check im not very familiar with as new a car as this. In other words im clueless on sucha new car! If it was my 66 its a different story!

Hi there,
There is a relay box, mounted on your lower front frame rail.
You would look for voltage signal on one wire. If you are handy with a multimeter, you may be able to diagnose it.

I have a 2000 C-5 and when I turn on the park lights, first position on the switch I can run the fog lights, if I go all the way to the second position of course the headlights will come on, and if I go back one position the head lamps will turn off but leave the head light doors open and the owners manual explains this is for cleaning the head lights if necessary. Hope this helps. I sent a thread on one of my fog lights is discolored and maybe has taken on some moisture. Anyone experience this and how do you remove the fog lights to take them appart and clean them?

Thanks,
Bill

The control stalk is worn out. This happened to me and I had to replace the stalk. I think it was about $150 installed. If you let it go it will get worse and the lights will start going up and down on its own.
