On a previous post I stated that my 1990 c4 thermostat was fluctuating between VERY hot at idle and cool while driving down the highway. I was concerned with this mainly because I didn't want to hurt my aluminum heads. I took the car down to the dealership to have the a.c. converted over and to my surprise when I drove for awhile in both stop and go traffic and open highway the thermostat stayed comfortably in mid-range the entire time. I don't know what they did, but I think I am grateful. I say " I think" because from reading about this fluctuating thermostat issue from other owners it's saying that these cars are supposed to operate hot. Am I reading this wrong? Should I be worried that the car may not be operating at the proper temperature? :confused:confused:confused

Wonder if you had something going on with the fans? Typically I would expect that to be something checked and obviously if it wasn't running right it would be a problem.

Just a thought.

Fans were working fine. Coming on at 240ish. Now car wont even get past 180.
