I finished removing, cleaning, and locktighting all my oil pan bolts when I foind a few numbers on the block.

On the driver's side, right above the oil pan:
10 ZSH X909290007

On the passenger side of the block I found:
15K 88A

Anyone have any idea as to what these #'s might mean?

Jay

Jay,
The 10 ZSH X909290007 is the Engine#/Build Date:

10 ZSH = Mercury Marine engine tracking number.
X9 = Build year (1989)
0929 = Build date. Your LT5 engine was built on (09/29/1989).
0007 = Engine Unit Number (7th one built that day)
@ Full Production, up to 24 Engines could be built each day.

The 15K 88A is a partial vehicle ID#:

1 = Chevrolet
5 = Bowling Green, KY
K = Model Year - 1990
88A = The Assembly Plant Sequential Number for the Vehicle.

Gordy, you da man! Thanks! Always neat to know that stuff. Thanks, again......

Jay
