Buy the real thing for the same cash, c'mon...
Question: The first Miami Vice car, the Daytona Spyder, was it a kit as well? I have a bet on this...

Yes - the first car was a "kit car" - a McBurnie spyder built upon a Corvette Chassis :cool

I just saw this on ebay that poor corvette!

That kit was well done, I thought. I think the Spyder on Cannonball Run was the real thing though...

Funny that I run across this thread -

Talked to a guy at a local watering hole Sunday.
Said he worked on the car building crew for Miami Vice. Taking Corvettes down to a rolling chassis, building body molds from an actual Ferrari, shrinking them down to fit the Vette frame and bolting them on.

He had tons of stories about his hollywood days.. Riverdale - think thats where he said he was from

Current project is an old Bus he has dropped a 75 Vette engine into.. its for a local BBQ restaurant.

Surely one of a kind, this Callaway Corvette has been rebodied as a "Callarossa" Convertible

Crockett would have turned up the Miami heat with this one :eek
