I have been trying to repair the front center valance on my 81. The car was in a minor front end collision before I bought it, so I am not sure what should and should not be there. Looking at the Assembly manual, it seems that there is no bracket or support on the front (pointy end) of the valence. Mine is attached at all points (eight bolts at the back sides that connect into the bumper, and bolts across the back attached into the frame), and it still gets pushed down by airflow and rubs on the ground at higher speeds. I do not even have the black "Skirt" on it -- but that is my goal.
I have seen on pictures on the sites various brackets that look like people have modified the valance to stop the very issue I am having. Pictures Please!.
Specifically -- Is there suppose to be any supports on the pointy end of the valence, or is that thing supposed to support itself (all the attachment points are in the rear) (pictures would be a great help)
If there is no support, how do you stop it from getting pushed down, is mine just tired? They are hard to find and expensive when you do. Do the fiberglass ones work
