Front License Plate

I also live in Maryland, close to BWI. I would say that 80% of the Vettes I see on the road don't have a front plate. Right now mine is in the trunk, if I get stopped I'll do what's required, but until then no front plate.

It basically gives the police a reason to stop you if they happen to be in the mood, or perhaps they'd like to meet the driver. Personally, I 've never had that problem.

I drove a year with it on and hated it.
Finally took it off - no problems yet.
$500 fine? I'll have to check NY law.
I like the idea of carrying it with just in case
though.

We only need the rear plate here so I get to keep my Vette cover. Even better, for those of you who can leave it on. You can't really see the Corvette embossed logo that well. I took mine off and had my wife (steady hand from painting arts and crafts) paint inside the letters. Cover is red. Now the emossed letters are gloss black. About 5 coats. Then 2 coats of clear coat. Now you can see the Corvette word with no problem. Also have the black lettering kit installed in the rear. Gives it a nice look.

in maryland it's only a 50 dollar fine. i've been warned once and told the cop you tell me how to put it on and i'll put it on.........he said you better take it to the dealer. maryland law states if there is no place for a front plate to be bolted then it's legal to have it off the car. i carry mine behind the seat and if i'm out showing at night at the local hang outs i'll throw it up on the dash just in case. gotta luv the bacon! :D
