My 2001 had the front plate cover that i had to remove because of the law here. Seems to me that I remember there were 2 to 4 tiny phillips head screws holding it in place. I have the plate cover in my trunk, I'll check it and bet back to you.

How do I get that front corvette plate cover on a C5 off?

You'll notice a lip on the top of plate that slips into place, the outside bottom of plate is beveled out, so to access the screws, you need a small screwdriver to slip between the gap. I remember it was a pain to take off. Hope this is clear and understandable.

Hi All,

Just an FYI. You can purchase a clear cover which is shaped just like the original and it actually looks pretty sharp.

i forget how much it costs, but it's not expensive.
