Fuel info resets and driver side air blows hot

I am having a similar problem to one posted earlier in that my fuel info resets back to zero on its own and also have a B0441 error. The driver side air blows warm regardless of the temp setting. Passenger side air is OK. Have tried the tip on resetting the actuator by removing fuse 27 with no luck and I don't understand the link between the fuel guage reset and the B0441

Hi there,
There is not a correlation between the HVAC and the fuel gauge. This reset is only for the HVAC.
Now, you most likely will have a PCM code for P0461 or a P1431.
If you would like to reset this, simply allow the DIC to go through the diagnostics, and once you see 'manual diagnostics' and see 10-PCM, push and hold the reset button.

I don't believe there is any link between B0441 (Left Actuator out of range) HVAC, and the fuel gage issue. Probably coincidence.

The HVAC electric actuators go through a power up test and calibration check when first connected to battery power. This test initializes the HVAC control assembly by driving the damper doors fully open and closed while calibrating their range of motion.
( they both use feedback pots to monitor the door position).
If it were me, I would first clear the codes and then disconnect the battery for a few moments, and then reconnect it. This would cause the test proceedure described above to run. After completion check for codes and then see if air runs cold.

Also check for PCM P1431 error code. That's the one that usually sets for a fuel sending unit problem, which by the way is very common. Search on "fuel gauge" for lots of posts on any C5 forum.

Let us know.

After checking this forum and others, I now think that these two problems (temp mix motor and fuel sending units) are so common that this is why they sometimes show up together. I haven't shown any other errors other than the B0441(mix motor) but will double check the next time my fuel mileage stuff resets to zero. Took car to dealer for diagnosis and estimate and the sending units are $817 and the temp mix motor is $575. Just purchased this car recently so quite a hit up front. Anyone had any luck getting GM to do some out-of-warranty concession on the fuel guage sending units?

Be aware others have seen the fuel gauge problem return after dealer replaced the sending unit.
