I need injectors to to replace the 305 injectors on my tpi system, its a 1986 unit, will LT-1 injectors fit the tpi system I found a really good deal on a set, and what does it cost to have a set cleaned and blueprinted or flowmatched whatever they do to them.

Don't do it. You will run too rich. The majority of LT1 engines run sequential fire injectors. This means that they each alone cycle in such a way that it puts more fuel per squirt. Your L98 computer is a batch fire. That means it fires them all off at one time, so there is less squirt per injector. These differences are minute, but enough to cause you significant running rich problems.

You are better to contact TPIS and get a direct replacement, or go to Summit Racing and buy a set of the Accell injectors which are nothing more than Ford style injectors. Stay on the lowest lbs per hour rating, and up your fuel pressure as needed (since I think you engine is mostly or totally stock).

yes if I put the system on my vette the engine will be stock, or 383 I'de like to find a set in the 22-26 lb area

Doesn't it roughly cost $15 per injector to have them serviced? I think that's around the price range but I'm not sure.

Depends what year the LT1 injectors are..

Here is a break down of Injectors VS Corvette Years

85 L98..............24#
86-91 L98.........22#
92-93 LT1.........22#
94-96 LT1.........24#
96 LT4..............28#

All 305s found in F-body TPIs were 19# and all 350 F-Body TPIs were 22#

Hope this helps

Jeff,

Just curious why they went down on the 86-91 L98's.

i think they found better ways to use the fuel, and better air/fuel mixture with the smaller ones.

The 93-93 cars are batch fire, so if the injectors are out of an early LT1, it should make no difference, besides the added flow

FoMoCo Racing injectors were $208/8 injectors from Summit. They work well and were lots cheaper than from Chevy. The size is determined by the HP rating of the engine.

Size vs fuel pressure is a technique that varies between tuners. My 550 HP 406 runs stock pressure at 30 pph.
