Hello All,

I just noticed a major oversight I made with my rebuild... the connector to my fuel line filter touches the water heater hose, and the filter gets really hot. See attached photo... this can't be good.

I'm in need of suggestions for this setup. It's an Edelbrock Thunder Series 650 cfm carburetor connected to an Edelbrock fuel pump, and it was a pain just getting this setup worked out.

Any help is apperciated.

Thanks.

Nevermind... disregard this post! I reacted too soon! I was able to make an adjustment, and I have the clearance... a simple fix.... boy, do I feel silly!!! :eyerole

Glad you sorted your problem.

Did you know that the original line was metal all the way up to the carb on original setups on 81? I believe it was the same for other years on QJet applications.
Could this metal line have been a help to you?
It runs straight down in front of the block to the fuel pump.

The only problem I have heard is that it heats fuel up and leans out at high temps. It also has caused a few 'run ons'. I notice this on a stinking hot day that she will run on. Hey I'd hate to be in a Vettes engine bay with the heat in there.

Cheers

Tony

Edelbrock Heater Hose Line vs Fuel Line

The hester hose coming out of my edelbrock manifold (with EGR, etc) on my '77 L-82 seems to interfere with the fuel line (from Inline Tube). Did the original cast iron manifolds have the heater hose outlet in a different location than the ones on the Edelbrock manifolds?
