Help! fuel pump problem

yeah i make you right the c3 is a pure classic look but the c4 is sexy too and its a drivers car and no matter what anyone thinks its a vette :) also the c4 is much more agile, nimble no wonder they did so well on the race track when they first came out . I will say though i maybe wrong to say but it seems the further we go the more the vette is loosing its individuality ? am i wrong ? seems certain models are looking like ferraris . living in australia in my youth i seen many a car take on the characteristics of the vette in the 70's where as now the vette seems to have taken the characteristics of others. Car makers like chev in them days had far more style and imagination now allmost all cars look like they got designed by someone who was in a hurry to get home and slob out on the coach with his beer and watch football . If you have noticed a few of the have started to use some of the looks of the old day in there new cars like the mustang , camaro so on aaaaaaa the good old day im sounding like my old dad :eyerole

Maybe you are due for a new pump ; possibly it is cutting out when it gets hot.
When no fuel pressure , have you checked for 12V power at pump connection under tank filler lid?
That will determine if a pump or wiring / relay problem.

Upgrade fuel pump tp 92 (LT1) type

NB
the oil pressure switch is a backup to the pump relay and will supply 12V direct ( bypassing relay ) to the pump
anytime engine has over 4 psi oil pressure ( cranking )
What kind of modifications need to be made to use this pump on an 85 L98 ?

None.

Its the same pump more or less, with almost double the volume it produces. This means that it can keep up with the demand at higher speeds or with bigger injectors. The pressure that it generates is about the same as the stock pump, but the volume is so much better that you could feel a more crisp throttle response because the engine is not suffering from fuel pressure drop for that instant as the engine revs. It always recovers, but its during that instant that it drops 10 - 15 or more psi that changes the spray of each injector. Knowing that each injector is firing several times a second with engine cycles....thats significant. If the pressure & vol can be maintained during the instant that the engine is reacting to throttle, the performance will be more uniform and consistant. The only mod needed is the wire connector. You can solder the correct connector into your wire harness intank or just solder the wires to the pump conenctors. 2 wires, follow the directions in the pump box. May have to shorten the fuel hose from the pump...not a big deal at all.

I'll run better most likely.:thumb
