fuel rail pressure, (HELP)!!!!!!!!! 1985 stock

Checked pressure at idle 8 psi, high rev 18 psi. I replaced the fuel filter and fuel pump, no change to idle or high rev psi. My question is, if I start replacing the fuel regulator and injectors I'll have time and about 400 bucks or more involved. Does anyone know if 35 psi at the rail instead of 18 is worth all the trouble, and trust me I am perfectionist, but I don't want to waste my time for nothing. The car runs pretty good even with the low psi, although sometimes I can get an idle range of 800 rpms, and I always get a slight hesitation at full throttle.

It is likely you have a problem, but you really need to test the fuel pressure the way the service manual specifies...then post the results.

I guess there is a better manual than the one I have, It started with the filter than the pump, but only mentions to check the other parts for problems. Like, look for leaks in the vac. lines or injectors. If you were a guessing man would you blame it on the injectors or fuel regulator.

Is your gauge correct?
I doubt the injectors would spray at 8psi ; that is carb pressure.
Stock pressure is 43psi with vac line disconnected; Should drop to 39 at idle with vac line connnected
