Bill,
Was hoping to get there this weekend but will have to feel how the wife feels about it. I have been spending way too much time soughting out the car latley and she may well not be happy if I h
go. I will have to see how it goes, hopefully will see you there.

Paul.

Yeah, the "what year is it?" crowd get to me all the time. My plate says 1971LS6 front and back!

I've had several people that come up to my '74 and look and ask questions like "Is it fast", and I reply that "Well, it's a 30 year old car so..." and they say "What???? 30 years???"
They thought it was new...

Also, people have asked if it is a Ferrari...

try answering the ones when they ask if its a stingray.
some people think any vette 53 to 2003 was called stingray.:beer

Hey Sherry, another one lives in NYS

My mind has been grinding on a conversation I had at a local car show and reading your stories I realized they have a cousin in my area.

A guy, 35+/- spent 5-10 min walking around my 81 and finally asked what year it was, I guess the 81 on the window plauqe wasn't enough of a clue. He then said why do I have this car here because it is too new to be at a car show. I ignored him and just smiled. Half an hour later he comes back and repeated the same thing to me, I kinda blew up and told him to tell the same thing to the guy with the 2001, 1998, 1982 seeing you know so much about vette years. He replied I said that to the guy with the 82 but those others aren't vettes. So I told him you must be a ford judge and they are 3 lines over. never say min again.

Then a 8-9 yr old girl askes if she can take a picture of my car because its the one she would like some day. So she and her dad came back to take a picture.

There is good and bad at every show, OH WELL!

Hi Steve: And welcome to :CAC

This is a pretty good forum; lot of great, helpful people & information. Best on the "Net"!

Hey, do you ever show your 'Vette, or is it strickly for drivin' & pleasure?

Dave

no its not for showing yet strictly cruising I picked this 79 up a couple of years ago drivetrain is good so is the body paint is a liittle old but still looks good.
I got away from vettes about thirty years ago with work etc.
my first vette was a 63 convert 327 300hp then a 67 coupe 427 and last a 68 convert 427 .
I just had to get that feel back you never lose it so if you ever think about selling your vette think twice you will always regret it unless your buying another vette.
Ill get new paint for mine and get it as close to perfect as I can but Im not worried about showing wouldnt be bad though
steve.!!!
