Late tomorrow (Friday) afternoon, I'm loading the body-on-a-dolly on the trailer for the trip to the body shop.
I decided that I'd better cut out the gill-slits in the new fenders today......couldn't put it off any longer. Seems like I respond better when up against a deadline.
Why do I have to cut them out? They weren't cut when the fenders arrived and after 12 months of searching, finding and then begging for these special fenders, I just decided to deal with it myself.
I made up a cardboard template of the hole area, marked the cut line, drilled out the four corners of each gill-slit, then dremeled between the holes....leaving about 1/32" on all sides for final filing/sanding at the body shop.
I got one fender done today; the other tomorrow.
Curious about the fenders? See Chapter 14 on my site.
