I HAVE A 1994 COUPE AND WHEN I ACCELERATE QUICKLY AROUND A TURN FROM A STOP IT SEEMS THE GAS PEDAL STICKS THEN POPS BACK UP. WHAT COULD THIS BE ?

Might be the ASR kicking in????????Try it with the ASR off & see if it makes a difference?????

Have you cleaned your throttle body (TB) lately? Check to see that your TB butterfly plates are not gummed up.

Possibilty of a bad engine mount(s). The combination of acceleration and turning maybe generating enough torque on the mounts to bind the accelerator cable. Does the pedal come back after the wheels are straightened from the turn? Frank

'Gas pedal sticking'

It's absolutely the ASR kicking in. It's very un-nerving. I've had my '95 for a year and still can't get used to it. If you deactivate the ASR with the pushbutton above the light switch, it will reactivate when you shut the car off and then back on.
Actually I've been saved some real embarassment by the ASR when driving on wet or dirty roads. Could have been in the ditch except for the automatic braking of the slipping back wheel and the 'hammer' lifting the gas pedal.
If you can get your eyes to the DIC (driver's information center) when this happens, you'll see the ASR Active light come on.
