Gasket between MC and Booster??

Is there supposed to be one????? what about this "filter" is see in all the breakdowns....looks like it goes around the neck of the mc....Thanks guys....

yes, there is a round piece and a square piece. I had to make mine for the 81 but last week I saw them advertised in Corvette America, or Corvette Central. good luck, jim
