gasoline odor

I have a 2002 vette conv, & after I gas up it has a strong gas odor that lasts until I drive it acouple of miles. Ive only had the car acouple of weeks ,is this normal ? ( the gas cap is new & tight) anyone know about this problem? thanks ,,copper187

I would get it up on the rack and inspect all the lines and clamps and make sure nothing is leaking or loose....as you know there should be no fuel smell. Google C5 fuel odor and see what it says...

thanks Huskerman ,im bringing it to a dealer this week.,ive looked everywhere but cant see any leak .

I would suspect the tube that connects the two tanks, there was an issue with this that Chevrolet had to deal with.
