Help! Gauge Wire Connection?

Where is the oil pressure gauge "wire" located in the '94 LT1? Where is the most likely place to look for damage/bad connection of this wire
if it occurred during the replacement of the rack & pinion? Thank you.

I think it's on the back of the motor, driver's side, near the intake, if your 94 is like mine:

(just noticed - yours is black, so since mine was black, probably the same )

that wire section is the other end of the engine....so it should not have been messed with unless they wiggled stuff while disconnecting the negative battery cable somehow...The only reason to even look is because it worked before the shop got it, right?
There are several wires back there....the one you want is a cap on a sensor screwed into a "t" fitting in the back of the block right where the head mounts as seen in schrades pic. The rest of the harness goes back to the firewall where it is very difficult to access. You can get fingers on it and wiggle it a bit to see if that effects the gauge reading.

Yep...
The OP sending unit screws into that fitting which is screwed into the block.

Move as much stuff as possible to gain access and visability. Even getting the sender screwed back in the fitting can be a challenge because you just can't see back there,...the wire connection can be fun as well.
Like I said before, try wiggling the wire harness back there to see if that has an effect on anything.

There might be a little residule oil from the sender/passages, but it will be minimal if any at all. Unless of course the engine is running.
