When you order the new bumper and of course it doesn't fit right, what is the method (tools) that people use to make the fit properly. I've got no body experience so I would hate to mess it up.
thanks

Steel Bumper
#1-Tape off paint.
2-Bolt down sides first.
3-Bolt down center.
4-pull tape off.
5-done.
your`s being a 79 , I don`t know . you should go to body shop

Ouch!!

I'm sorry about your pain and the damage to the car :-(

I know I am a bit late, so hopefully you are doing better now.

If it were me I'd find a reputable body shop that is used to Corvettes.

You can get a perfect fit if you match the car to the bumper, not the bumper to the car.

The fiberglas is easier to work than trying to bend a bumper.

When we had our '74 roadster completely stripped down and repainted, we wanted the front bumper replaced. It took our very experienced body shop 4 bumpers to make it work. This is definitely not a "do-it-yourself" project!
