RATTLES!!!
Several months ago I replaced the solid top with a clear top. A great improvement, more head room and a much more open feeling. The instructions that can with it for installation, seam extremely complex, so I put the thing on, tightened it, and that was that. The rear fittings seam to rattle when you hit bumps, and if you just loosen or tighten, they go away. It sounds like a flex or temp issue. Can someone tell me a simple way to elliminate this problem. There is an after market kit available to stop the rattles, I believe Mid-American. The problem could be that the weather stripping is old or set to the older top. BTW, new weather stipping is some serious bucks.
Before spending any money try a couple of things. As you reinstall the top, tighten the screws a little at a time and alternate (front left to back right). Give the top time to adjust to your car. Look for any contact points where the top might be rubbing.
