Last week I decided to order a window sticker and build sheet for my 87 coupe from the National Corvette Museum. I have most all of the original stuff from the car's delivery like the warranty card, tire and battery warranty card and such and I had already bought an 87 sales brochure from the NCM.
So it arrived today and I was suprised to see that the car was delivered to one of the GM departments from the assembly line. The ship to location was:
GM Service Development Center
G.M. Tech. Center
Warren, MI
The car was sold to:
Environmental Activities Staff
GM Tech Center 12 Mile & Mound Rd.
Warren, MI
Anybody have any idea what this center is and why would the car go there?? Test vehicle or maybe staff use?? The production number (last 5 of VIN) is fairly high and Ilooks like the car was built in mid-April (87/117).
I have a 1988 Michigan vehicle registration form in a lady's name so I would think that GM eventually sold the car thru a local dealer.
