Has anyone from Canada ever used GM vintage vehicle services?
Apparently, if you call them and give them your VIN# they can give you a bunch of info on your particular car. Although it is only good for cars bought originally in Canada, it might help out a few Canadians. The website is:

www.gmcanada.com/english/maintenance/parts/parts_vint.html

A nominal fee applies for the research service:

$45 Cdn. + GST & PST (ON) for 1964 to current vehicles $25 Cdn.+ GST & PST (ON) for vehicles 1963 and older.

HEY THERE, i called GM toll-free number and they sent me an entire packet. it included all the specs for my year from engine/cooling/ trans, etc. anything you might want to know about a specific year.
plus they give you all the standard info for that vehicle.

wish i had the number handy, but i am sure if you look back at past postings you'll find it

I have used the service.
They tell you the options the car has, date and destination of original dealer delivery, and also a spec sheet for the particular model.

I have checked out this service, and it's pretty much a waste of money, unless you really want to know what dealer your car was at.

Otherwise you can get all the info you need right here.

Or you can order a build sheet from ecklers.

The build sheets that are available in the USA are available for Bowling Green Corvettes only, as I understand. SO...if you own a car built prior to 1981/1982, there is nothing available. Chuck

Mart,

This service is for cars that have no build sheets/tank stickers, not for cars that have a sticker with the option codes inside the console!

You're right that in your case it would be a waste of money. Didn't George tell you that when you called?

Try these for a restoration pack. I got mine for free.
