Recently I bought a copy of a book that most of us have probably seen advertised in the COrvette Catalogs----it's title is something like "101 Projects" for the C4 (sorry, don't have the book with me as I type this). This book addresses many of the subject areas that are discussed on the forum (computer chips, various performance upgrades, basic maintenance issues on the car, etc.), yet it does so in a refreshingly practical and honest sort of way. Actually, I was really surprised! For example, one thing the author does is look at many of the standard performance upgrades that are hyped in the aftermarket and evaluates whether they are worth it or not (performance chips, K&N filters, etc etc). The most refreshing thing is that the author does reach firm and clear conclusions. My guess is that a number of manufacturers were not pleased, but that should tell you that this book will probably help you save money and avoid dashed expectations. I got mine used on Amazon for $11. Well worth it.

A very similar idea for a book was created several years ago but it addresses the 911 Porsche, 101 Ideas for your 911. Great book, and worth 3 times the asking price.
I'm checkin Amazon for the C4 book.

I briefly saw it in Barnes & Noble a few months ago, but never really looked it over at the time. Sounds like it will be a good addition for the garage!

Placing a Christmas order from Amazon.com for other items...I'll add this book to my list! Thanks for the review!

Congrats on new car---I got my '89 Ebay rat off of Ebay (of course), myself! Ebay has really revolutionized, in a good way, buying our cars and getting new and used parts for them. It's sort of the internet equivalent for cars of what the internet did to bust-up the old mainstream press monopoly over the news.

That one is good.....I think there are actually two versions.....the original was $29.95, andf the newer one is $34.95. I'd recommend the newer one.....it has a few more things in it than the original.....had to order mine from Hastings.

It is very honest, and will help you use your money wisely. No 40hp gains from a K&N filter type claims here at all.

A Must Have!!

101 Projects should be required reading for every C4 owner. Ever have a question about how a particular job is done? This book will have the answer for you.
