Hello all :-)

There is a local dealer (Sterling Chevrolet, for those in the area) that is advertising $10k off any Vette on the lot.

They have a 6speed w/ roof package for $40,210 after discount, $50,210 sticker price.

Is this a reasonable price? With the $10k off, does anyone know if this gives me any wiggle room or am I stuck with their advertised price? This will be the first time I've spent this much on a vehicle, so it's a big step.

I'll be getting more car details/info tomorrow.

Any vette?

If they have a Z16 (Commerative Edition Z06) get that one!!!!!!
Damn-That is a good price!

You can always have wiggle room. All you gotta do is play the game. Go there. Tell them you gotta think about it. Make sure you leave your name and phone number with them. They will tell you some BS that "This deal is only good today and the vettes won't be here after today" Tell them that you are still shopping and have other options. The dealer will call you. Tell them 500 bucks off will make a difference.

ON the other hand if they do have the Z16 on sale buy it then.

I have to agree with BV... that is a very attractive price. However, if you aren't extremely picky about color and options, then wait a couple of months when the C6's start to hit the lots. That should open up a little wiggle room, however, at 40 grand, I'm not sure if waiting is really worth it.

I'm thinking RedVette and BV hit it on the nail head. ;)

Sounds like a pretty sweet deal to me. I have heard of some big Corvette dealers going as far as 13k off sticker. That might require some travel though. If this is a good dealer that will take care of you and has a good rep that is worth a lot too.

The deals will get sweeter when the C6s get closer and especially after they come out. The other thing to consider is that the selection of C5s will shrink towards that time too. If this is really the one you want deal with them a little. There is always some room to deal. A dealer isn't going to price a car with no room to manuver.

Good luck on your Vette quest and welcome to the Corvette Action Center.

10k off sticker - read the fine print...

More than likely, it includes past GM owner cash, all incentives, over 65 discounts, military discount, and recent grad discount :eek

All the above, plus 6k off the sticker = the 10k they will sucker you into the showroom on...

There was a dealer, Les Stanford I think, that was actually dealing right when the C6 was introduced - they were the best deal (out of town though) going...

Good luck, post the details... :m

Koons Tysons Chevy has 3 Z16, Z06's on their lot as of last week :eek

I agree with 89X2.

Be very careful regarding what constitutes the 10K discount. Be careful that the car in question has "already been sold," (ie, the owner just took it to lunch). Funny how there's always another more expensive option on the lot.

In early spring I was thisclose on a 2004. Couldn't believe that the price actually increased from Wednesday to Friday. That was a first for me. And a last for the dealer. I went in a different direction.

Good luck!

:)

Do you know what they are asking price wise?
