So, my turn signals weren't working. Lights were ok, brights were ok, everything seemed fine. Pulled the fuse- it looked ok.

That drove me nuts. Then I started pouring through my manuals and began to look at every possibility as to where a short could be.

:W

Then I pulled every fuse- looked from top to bottom. As I went back over the turn signal fuse- it had a break that was so fine that I didn't see it until I put on my glasses. Mind you, I have 20/30 vision- it was just that small and hard to miss.

Yup - I missed it ENTIRELY on the first go round and got paranoid for nothing.

:chuckle

Every had something like that happen to you?

Oh Yeah, a better way to test fuses is with a test light. Touch one side should light, then touch the other side should light. If not fuse is bad. Ps if the circuit you are checking only works with the key on you will need the new on:upthumbs

Question Is.........

What caused the "fuse" to blow? Is there something else wrong that will cause it to go again? NOT wishing you anything but good trouble free driving, keep an eye on it.;)

I agree with ya' crowvet- a test light is the way to go. Unfortunately... I didn't have one in the parking lot when I first noticed the signals weren't working.

Thanks Rowdy- I don't expect to blow that fuse again. Previously, I had something come too close to the neutral safety switch. Pop! Apparently, my fan relay's mounting bracket touched it and grounded it out.

I put a lower rated fuse in after that as I had exhausted the right fuses looking for the short. I did that just to get the signals working again when I didn't have the right amp fuses around anymore.

Well, like I said, I had a lower amp fuse that was temporary until I could get to the store for the right one. The signals worked well even with the lower amp fuse. Well, I must have blown it when I turned the car over with the signals on. It created just enough of a surge to pop the fuse.

:L

No problems now.
