Anyone know where I can find a single Eagle GS-C for the left rear of my 95 vert? Goodyear has since discontinued the tires and all I need is one. The right rear was replaced last August and is in great shape, but the left has some bumps and chunks as the alignment was way our of wack. The fronts are in pretty good shape. Just trying to avoid spending money on four new tires as I'm already in for a bunch with the repairs I'm currently having done.

Tirerack only has the GS-C RunFlat. :(

Call tire rack on the phone. I noticed it gone from the site
2 years ago, when I was looking for tires. Then it appeared
one day. It turned out they had plenty left in the warehouse.

If not, wait until a big show like Carslile. Or go on a forum like
this and see if anybody has some for sale--fairly common.
Get pics if you do that.

Check with your local dealers for the one you need also. Their distributors may still have the one you need in stock. It may cost more than buying from TireRack but then again you only need one and do not want 2/4 tires.

You know, it would probably be cheaper to just get a pair of cheaper tires like Kumho's. The GSC's will run you over $200 each, and the Kumhos were only $113 each when I bought them. with the pair you will have a good alignment again.

Mic, that is the right tread pattern, but those are the EMT's and I didn't really want a single Run-Flat. The EMT's tend to be more expensive as well.

Vettelt193, I'd rather spend the $200 for one tire now then have mismatched tires front and rear. Trying to keep the look of the car clean. Not sure of the look with different sidewalls front and rear.

I guess I could show you a pic of my car, i have the mixed set right now... Kumhos on the front, GSC's on the rear. I don't even think anyone notices the difference.

call around i'm sure they still got some in the warehouses or someone here might have a used set to get you buy on?!?!?

Gorgon,

check this out this guy got some GSC's for sale alittle worn but not bad.

I have 3 right side and 3 left side tires.
P275 40ZR 17s

They are around 50% treadwear left.

I will measure tonight for the precise depth.

$225 for all or $40 each plus shipping. (I believe shipping is aroung $10 each)

That would have been great. My rears are 285 not 275. And he's in Miami which isn't real far from me. :(

Mid America Designs has single GSCs in its catalog: $280 for 275s and $300 for 315s, but no 255s or 285s.

Hi Gorgon,

I just sprung for four brand new GS-C's, I'd like tell you about my experience.

I read in the December, 2001 issue of Corvette Fever (page 76) that the GS-C's were in short supply and that if you are interested in keeping your C4 OEM, purchase a set and stash them away. At the time, I didn't think anything of it.

Well, I found out just how difficult it is to find GS-Cs. I called my local Goodyear (GY) dealer, all they had were two fronts (I bought them). They were the last fronts available to them, they had no rears. A search of other GY dealers turned up a "discontinued". Keep in mind, I live in a large city where just about anything is available, I'm not out in the sticks.

One last call to a large GY dealer revealed that they could have two rears for me in four days. When I tried to negotiate a price, he said there was no negotiating due to supply. I told him that I could get a better price through Tirerack, this peeved him off. He said, "well, if you want them mounted, it's going to cost you $300.00"! I laughed at him because I had already confirmed that my Chevy dealer would mount and balance them for $45.00. It was a nice feeling hanging up on the price gouging SOB.

I then went to Tirerack and ordered two rears (P285/ZR17). I now have a new complete set.

I know many frown upon the GS-Cs, but personally, I love them, and I want to keep my LT4 stock. In the fall, I am going to have my new tires put on, in the mean time, I am considering buying another full set from Mid America Designs to store so I won't have to deal with people trying to gouge me. I have noticed that the price of GS-Cs have gone up in the past six months, the GY dealer told me this was due to the limited supply.

I can understand your desire to keep your tires the same, just don't let anybody try to take advantage of your hard earned dollar.

Sorry, I went off on a tangent here, just had four cups of coffee.

Have a great Memorial Day:pat

Thanks for the replies. Mad-Mic pointed me to Tirerack where the GS-C is listed as a closeout. When I do a search putting in my car only the GS-C run flats come up not the regular GS-C. If I search by tire size I get the regular GS-C. I ordered the needed tire last night. $230 with shipping.

As to keeping stock, this will be my last set of GS-C. My next set I think I will be looking at the F1 GS-D3's. These look like a great replacement to the GS-C's with great dry traction and much better wet traction than the GS-C's.

Thanks again for everyone's help.
