after 3 1/2 months. It's PPG single stage Global urethane. I think it turned out really nice, but man do I have some detailing to do! Loads of dust on it, even though it was masked off. Today was dark and drizzly outside, so the photos didn't come out that well, but here they are FWIW. PT :D

Paint job

Your paint job looks very impressive and the car looks really straight. I hope you are proud of your project
I hope mine will come out as nice when it gets to that point

WoW! Looks great. She'll be fantastic once you dress her up. Bet you can't wait. Good Luck

Looks great! As you know, that's one of my favorite colours. If those pics aren't as good as you'd like, I can't wait to see some "good" pictures!! :L

A very nice Easter present indeed, looks good Patrick. I am sure you think it even looks better back in your garage :D

Thanks for your thoughts. :D It took me over a year to find a painter I felt comfortable with. Those paint and body shops that "specialize in Corvettes" might do a good job, but they cost twice what I paid. They charge enormous fees because "they can" and they know Corvette owners have deep pockets, right?

The other reputable body shops do nice work at a reasonable price, but they don't have the knowledge required for working on 38+ year old Corvettes. They are only interested on doing your car when their business is slow...nothing gets in the way of their quick and dirty Insurance claims work. They will probably knock out your paint job in a week or two and I didn't want a production line paint job. PT :eyerole

The world's going to be such a better place as these terrific winter projects all start hitting the road! Flowers? We don't need no stinkin' flowers! :L

Now for the tricky part, Patrick. Z28Canuck and I always worried about scratching or chipping the paint as we reinstalled the bumpers, lights, grill, headlight buckets, emblems, etc.

I always worried about items on clothing doing paint damage. The best solution, we found, was to work naked. The only downside was I really had to crank the heat in the garage during the winter. That and looking over my shoulder a lot. ;)

Now there's a visual I didn't need.... :ugh

Which One?

I know, Mac, but that's what you call commitment to the hobby. ;LOL

Restoring the vette, or being a nudist? I "used" to wash & wax the 62 in the driveway naked but it caused too many traffic jams and a few minor accidents and I live on a dead end street.
On a serious note, PT, the car looks awesome, "Git her done" so we can see it all dolled up!:upthumbs

I'd have to say I'd be impressed if you followed this up with an accident report indicating that you had dropped your "hammer" on your toe! :L

Totally awesome!! you have to be geeked to the max. I remember when mine came home from the paint shop i couldn't stop looking at it..

How U doing lol!!!
